Seneca School District is committed to a vision of 21st-century learning and a commitment to continual improvement. We believe we owe it to our students, staff, parents and community to challenge our students to reach their individual potential. We do this through a collaborative culture among the staff. Our professional learning communities seek ways to individualize instruction so that every student knows exactly where they are in his or her academic progress towards defined objectives. Students are also encouraged to enhance their development through participation in our many extra-curricular and co-curricular programs. Seneca has produced state champion teams and individuals in athletics, all-state performers in music, area and state officers in FFA and many more successes in speech/debate, drama and student clubs.
Seneca is a leader in Project-Based Learning in SW Missouri. Through this process we challenge students to grow in the Five Cs: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity and Community engagement. We also begin to tap the curiosity and problem-solving abilities of students with STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) projects at all grade levels. Just ask our kindergarteners to explain how to keep Humpty’s egg safe or how to protect their house from the Big Bad Wolf!
